All We Can Hope For

Something happened that I cannot tell you about because it is not my story to share. But the actual details really don’t matter to this post anyway. This post is not about What Happened, it is about the way my baby girl CHOSE to react  when it did.

As a mom you do what you can to instill values and teach your kids right from wrong. We talk, we preach, we role model, we share. And then you send your kids out there into the world and HOPE that they do what is right.

When they falter, and they will falter cause we all do, you pick them up dust them off and reevaluate what went wrong. And then once again we  teach, we preach, we role model, we share.

And the next time, cause their will be a next time, once again we HOPE they will do what is right.

Yesterday my 9-year-old Grace did what was right. It was not easy, in fact it was down right scary for her to do it; but Gracie did what we HOPE all our kids will do… she saw an injustice, something that just did not seem right to her and instead of turning her back she told me about it. She told me because she felt empathy and compassion for the other person involved. She told me because she could easily see her brother being in the same situation.

SHE TOLD ME! I COULD NOT BE MORE PROUD OF HER FOR DOING IT!

I don’t know what the end results will be, but I know that my girl did what was right, not what was easy. As a  mother, well that is all I can HOPE  for!

We Teach, We Preach, We Role model, We share and then we HOPE they will do what is right! And then we do it again and again and again because as a mom we HOPE that some other child out there will do what is right when it comes to our child too!

That is ALL I CAN HOPE FOR!
