Meeting the Teachers

Yesterday was the day that we all met the new teachers. I went in first and spent 30 minutes and spoke to both of the incredible women who will be blessed to have my son in their lives for 7 and a half hours a day 180 something days of the year. And that is exactly how they made me feel… as if having my child in their class was a blessing. Can you really ask for anything more?

Well of course you could ask. I could ask the county for more funding so that his resource teacher wasn’t so overwhelmed by her case load. I could ask for OT and PT and Speech… but I have already done all those things and guess what… I am not getting anything from my Christmas Wish List. So instead of beating my head against the wall, I have decided to be grateful for all I am getting. And what I am getting this year are two incredible teachers who obviously love what they do.I am getting the same resource teacher who loves my boy as if he was her own.

I am sure we will all have some moments throughout the school year. That is a given. But I am also sure that these ladies really do have my child’s best interest in mind. Yes I was able to get all this in just the short 30 minutes we met. And even more so in the short 10 minutes they spent with my son after my meeting.

I was not sure how we could top off last years teachers as they were just that great. In fact Mrs. I even stopped by the meeting to say hello and give us all a hug. But guess what… I think these folks will be just as caring and loving and really will get my boy ready to start the next chapter of his life… middle school.

So come on Monday… I am ready for the new school year to begin. Well actually I still need to get their backpacks out and label lunch boxes and Grace needs new shoes… but you get what I mean!

  1. I’m also blessed to have six of the greatest teachers I’ve ever met. They make my children feel wonderful and always welcome me as a good friend.
It’s a great feeling knowing that my children are well taken care of and safe when they are at school.
Have a great school year! 🙂
